1 cup rolled grains (or Irish Oats)
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 cup melted butter
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chocolate buttermilk or regular buttermilk (see recipe for chocolate buttermilk)
12 ounces Guinness
Preheat oven to 425 and grease an 8 x 8 pan
In a medium bowl combine the dry ingredients.
In a large mixing bowl combine liquids and add dry ingredients. Mix to combine.
Pour into pan, it will be liquidy and very full.
Carefully bake at 425 for 30 minutes. Turn oven down to 400 and bake an additional 30 minutes.
